Author Amy Wu tours California in November to speak on the women-led high-tech revolution in agriculture
Quill Driver Books author Amy Wu is touring in five cities in Northern California’s agricultural heartland this November to speak on the women-led high-tech revolution in agriculture, which Wu documented in her film and book From Farms to Incubators.
From Farms to Incubators documents how women entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds are leading the new field of agtech, the integration of agriculture and high technology. Wu will speak on how agtech can create better agricultural systems for producers, farmworkers and consumers, while helping to solve the biggest threats growers are facing under climate change and offering exciting, high-tech careers for women.
Wu will speak at these dates and locations:
- Nov. 15 and 16, California State University, Stanislaus.
- Nov. 17, 11 a.m., California State University, Fresno.
- Nov. 18, 11 a.m., River House Books, Carmel.

Wu’s book and film, both titled From Farms to Incubators, present nearly 30 inspiring case studies of how women entrepreneurs from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds are meeting the challenge of feeding a global population projected to reach 10 billion by 2050. The women profiled in From Farms to Incubators are leaders in using drones, artificial intelligence, sophisticated soil sensors, targeted microbes, data analytics, blockchain and robotics to transform agriculture into the growing field of agtech — the integration of agriculture and technology.
A must-read book for business leaders, policy makers, and everyone interested in tech innovation, From Farms to Incubators offers exhilarating role models for young women, a thought-provoking glimpse into the future of food production, and a fascinating investigation of how women leaders are profitably disrupting the world’s oldest industry.
